Add Flavor to Your Meal with Homemade Pesto

Add a burst of fresh flavor to your next meal with homemade pesto.
Pesto comes together in just 15 minutes and is made using a handful of ingredients, including walnuts, parmesan cheese and basil, April’s Harvest of the Month. Pesto is a delicious addition to so many favorite foods, including pizzas, soups, sandwiches, meats and pasta.

Ingredients:
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves (no stems)
- 2 tbsp. walnuts
- ½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 2 large cloves garlic
- ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Combine basil, nuts, cheese, garlic, salt and pepper in a food processor or blender and process until finely minced.
- With the machine still running, slowly drizzle in oil and blend until smooth. Scrape sides as needed.
