Amanda Lawrence Recognized with Hot Springs DAISY Award

Amanda Lawrence, RN, who works in Hot Springs’ Neuroscience IP Unit, was recognized with a DAISY Award for her commitment to teamwork and the care she provides to her patients.

Amanda was nominated by a coworker who praised her as a “wonderful team player, stepping up to help with whatever the unit needs, including the charge nurse position.”

The nomination said she goes above and beyond for her patients–one of whom is currently waiting on a hospice bed–while dealing with her father’s own COVID-related health issues.

“Her own heart is breaking because her father is in our ICU. …I praise her strength and ability to compassionately care for her patients under unimaginable stress with such grace.”

The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created the national award to thank nurses everywhere.
