Betty Parker Receives July 2017 Daisy Award
Betty Parker, RN on 4E, was recognized as a Daisy Award Winner for always listening and actively helping her patients – even on her days off. Read a snip from her nomination:
A patient had been in the hospital for a lengthy period of time and shared with her that she was very bored. Betty came in on her day off to bring her a coloring book and crayons to help pass the time.
The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this national award to say thank you to nurses everywhere.
