Senior Leadership Celebrates Magnet Re-Accreditation Team

Senior leadership hosted a small celebration to recognize everyone who has contributed to the Magnet Re-Accreditation process. Contributors include nurse leaders, administration and many other coworkers from across the system. The review of the re-accreditation documents takes approximately four months until we are notified of moving forward to having a site visit.

Kathy Neely was also recognized at the celebration for stepping in and filling the role of Chief Nursing Officer over the last 10 months.

In a nutshell……. The Magnet Recognition Program was developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), based primarily on the research conducted by the American Academy of Nursing, to recognize healthcare organizations that provide nursing excellence. The Magnet Recognition Program recognizes health-care organizations for quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice. Consumers rely on Magnet designation as the ultimate credential for high quality nursing. Achieving Magnet status is the highest level of honor awarded by the ANCC and is recognized nationally as the “gold standard” of nursing excellence.
