Mary Thomason, RN, was recognized as a Service Hero at the Infirmary for displaying the value of EXCELLENCE.
Mary was working the morning of Wednesday, July 31 when a sprinkler head on the 7th floor malfunctioned.
Her critical thinking and quick action led her to create a dam with blankets, diverting the water to the stairwell and averting a potential disaster.
She remained calm in chaos and helped lead others to focus on a solution, not the problem.
The Little Rock Fire Department was dispatched, and firefighters assisted with the cleanup of more than 5,000 gallons of water.
