Nicholaus Parker Recognized as Infirmary Service Hero

Nicholaus Parker, who works on 4NW at the Infirmary, was recognized as a Service Hero for the displaying the value of COMPASSION.
Nicholaus was nominated by a coworker for the kindness he showed an elderly visitor in the cafeteria.
The woman, who was using a rolling walker, got her salad first and proceeded to walk over to the soda machine and try to fix her drink, which was extremely difficult with her salad and walker.
“Nicholaus was in line for lunch and within seconds had walked over to the visitor and began to assist her. Even with his mask on, you could see his smile as he assisted her. He fixed her drink and then took it a step further by carrying it through the line for her and making sure she was taken care of for her lunch.
“To see the smile through the mask and look on her face was priceless. Today, he exemplified what compassion, human kindness and excellence means. I was honored to say he was one of our coworkers.”
