Breshears Collecting Shoes for Suicide Prevention Awareness
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is hosting an advocacy day on April 20 at the Arkansas State Capitol in Little Rock.
AFSP will place 516 pairs of shoes on the Capitol steps to represent the number of suicide deaths in Arkansas during the past year.
Tabitha M. Breshears, BSN RN CEN, Nurse Manager, Emergency Department at Infirmary, is passionate about suicide prevention, due to the loss of a family member and a friend by suicide. She’s collecting shoes for the event. After April 20, the shoes will be donated to charity.
Collection boxes for shoes will be in the cafeterias at Infirmary, Hot Springs, Morrilton and North from April 11-14. Or contact Tabitha at 870.834.6777 or via email at [email protected] to arrange for pick-up.
