Cara Petrus Named Service Hero at Infirmary

Cata Petrus was named a Service Hero at the Infirmary for displaying the value of  EXCELLENCE and COMPASSION.

A family member entered through the physician entrance, thinking it was the Emergency Department entrance. Their dad had fallen, was bleeding profusely and was slumped in the car, barely conscious.

Cara is not clinical but she quickly assisted the patient and family. She engaged one of the physicians that was departing the hospital and stayed with the family while EMS was called. When the son went home, she made sure the wife was transported by wheelchair to be with her elderly husband of more than 60 years.
