Creative Care Leads to DAISY Award for North RN
We are excited to announce that Karla Gober, RN at North, is the latest recipient of the prestigious DAISY Award! Karla was honored after she thought outside the box to provide special care for a patient and his family. Here’s her nomination:
“Karla was taking care of an ICU patient who was a new dad. The newborn was too young to visit in the ICU, so Karla worked to time a trip to the MRI with when the patient’s baby would be in the hall so he could see the baby for the first time in two days. Karla also discovered the patient’s wife had not brought a breast pump to the hospital with her. Karla placed an order and had a breast pump delivered to the hospital to relieve the discomfort the wife was feeling. She cares deeply for her patients and works so hard everyday. She deserves to be awarded for the care she gives her patients.”
Congratulations, Karla, on this well-deserved recognition! This story shows just how deeply you care for your patients, not just their physical health but also their emotional well-being. Don’t forget, DAISY Award nominations can come from anybody, including coworkers! We encourage you to nominate a deserving RN colleague for the DAISY Award by filling out the form here.
