DAISY Award Goes to North RN

We are proud to announce the second DAISY Award winner to a CHI St. Vincent nurse this week!

CHI St. Vincent North’s Hannah Gurney, BSN, RN, has been recognized by the DAISY Foundation. A patient of Hannah’s had been at the North hospital several times over the past year with infections at the site of two spinal fusions. The doctor prescribed long-term antibiotics for treatment; however, the patient had no insurance and was unable to afford the prescribed treatment. Hannah jumped on the phones and found a pharmacy accessible to the patient that provided a 60-day supply at an affordable cost. Rather than turning the patient over to case management, Hannah went the extra mile to make sure her patient had everything necessary for post-op care.

The DAISY Award is a special honor given to extraordinary nurses around the world for compassionate contributions that go above and beyond expectations. We are so proud of Hannah for receiving this deserved honor!
