Dr. John Webb, A Champion For His Patients

Congratulations Dr. John Webb, Bariatric and General Surgery, for being named a Hot Springs Service Hero!

He was nominated by a coworker for the award because of his “heart of gold.”

They said Dr. Webb was the surgeon for a special needs patient. Once she was in the PACU, Dr. Webb went to check on her and spent time talking and laughing with her.

The coworker said they witnessed his patience with her as it was time to get an X-ray.

“He told her we are going to get a picture and he would take one with her and he needed one of her by herself. She smiled ear to ear. His love and compassion for his patients is outstanding.”

There was another occasion in which Dr. Webb had a patient scheduled for a parathyroid surgery. Dr. Webb canceled the surgery the day of after obtaining labs, doing research and realizing the medication the patient was on was what created the irregular labs. 

“He is a champion in his field and he is brilliant. I know he may seem grumpy at times but I also know when he is frustrated it is because he cares so much and wants the absolute very best for his patients.  He truly is a hero in my book.”
