Hot Springs RN Honored for Patient’s End-of-Life Care
Caring for someone at the end of their life’s journey can be especially difficult. It’s something that we see almost every day in our hospitals, but it doesn’t get easier. Savannah Moore, RN, of Hot Springs recently showed such compassionate care to one such patient that the family asked us to recognize her as a CHI St. Vincent Service Hero. Here’s what they had to say:
“My father passed away a few hours ago. As you can imagine, my family is overwhelmed with grief, but we’re also overwhelmed with gratitude. We are very grateful for the care provided by the staff in the last days of my father’s life, but we are especially grateful for Savannah Moore. Some might say that she was just doing her job, and while this may be true, there is still something incredibly graceful about how Savannah does her job. Almost immediately, Savannah feels like family. She is calm and reassuring and more importantly she communicates clearly and often. Savannah made the last hours of my father’s life comforting. She helped us stay calm. She is a light in this challenging world. Thank you, Savannah, I imagine that you have blessed so many families with your presence. Thank you for choosing nursing. Thank you for being a reflection of God’s promises.”
We echo these sentiments in saying a deep thank you to Savannah. This is the kind of work that truly makes a difference in our community.
