Infirmary Case Management Coworker Named Service Hero

We are proud to announce that Smitha Patel, a member of our Case Management team at the Infirmary, has received the CHI St. Vincent Service Hero Award! Smitha consistently demonstrates commitment to improving patient care and fostering a harmonious team environment. Here’s her nomination for this award:

“Since stepping into a newer leadership role, Smitha has worked hard to improve the efficiency of the X-ray department. She has made for a more harmonious team that works together well. She has made an overt effort to get studies done faster for improving patient care and outcomes. This has made the biggest difference in getting swallow studies done for the speech department. We all – collectively as a team – appreciate the positive changes she has made. She has also been known to personally buy a patient their favorite soda once they get the ‘ok’ to eat and drink again after their swallow study. This makes their day and makes them feel so cared for and celebrated.”
