Infirmary NICU Honors EVS Coworker
The Infirmary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) recently held a birthday celebration for Lawrence Barnes of Environmental Services (EVS). This has become an annual tradition and is referred to as the Lawrence Barnes Appreciation Day–to recognize his birthday as well as honor him for all of his contributions to this team.
“He is truly a servant leader among us and while he works in EVS, he is a huge part of our unit.”
“He regularly welcomes parents to our unit; he tells dads to take care of their family.”
“One of my favorite things he says is ‘right will always come out on top.'”
Each year coworkers and team members submit nominations for the Lawrence Barnes Servant-Leader Award. This award was established in 2005 to honor Lawrence for being such a shining example of service.
“The award is given in grateful appreciation for years of humble service, performed in a spirit of reverence, integrity, compassion and excellence; and for inspiring and leading us to higher levels of Christian character.”
The 2016 recipients were Randy Hardin and Lynn Betzner. Congrats and thanks to Lawrence for being such a great example for over 34 years!
