Infirmary RN Wins DAISY Award for Outstanding Care

“My husband had open heart surgery. He did well and was discharged home. He developed AFib and had to be readmitted. His nurse, Lexy Hemphill, was a real blessing for the both of us. She went above and beyond, working transport for his ultrasound and MRI. Stayed with him and monitored him as a person with the heart monitor attached. She made sure he had all supplies, extra blankets, ice, water, anything he needed. Gave support to the family. I never felt like we were imposing. She took care of my husband as a person, not just another patient. Lexy is an amazing nurse and a true blessing to the nursing profession and especially our family.”
