Infirmary’s Best Cellar Accepting Donations

A huge thank you to the volunteers who manage the Best Cellar on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Have a bag of clothes or items you’re planning on taking to the Salvation Army or Goodwill? Bring them to work instead! The St. Vincent Auxiliary at the Infirmary is accepting donations of all kinds for their Best Cellar resale shop.

What donation items are needed?

  • Men’s & women’s clothing
  • Lightly used household items including electronics
  • Packaged socks
  • Packaged underwear
  • Kids clothes
  • Toys
  • Kids books

Where can I drop off donations?

You can bring your donations directly to the Best Cellar, or if you’re just driving by, there is a donation area located inside the Outpatient Therapy lobby. Outpatient Therapy is located by the ambulance bay/emergency room entrance at the Infirmary. Donations are tax deductible.

What is the Best Cellar?

The Best Cellar is a resale shop located on the ground floor of the Infirmary. They are open Tuesdays 10am-4pm and Fridays 8am-1pm. Funds from the Best Cellar go to pay for scholarships, coworker events like the Pack Shack event earlier this year as well as Auxiliary grants that departments can apply for here. (Auxiliary grants are for departments who have a financial need but are limited by a lack of capital funding.)

In addition to the Best Cellar, the items donated could be included in their Compassion Closet.

What is the Compassion Closet?

This is a section of the Best Cellar store that is dedicated to patients who are in need of clothes when they’re discharged from our hospital. Do you have a patient in need of some clothes? Contact Care Management (ext. 3840) or the Volunteer Office (ext. 3550) for details.
