Our Co-Workers Give Thanks and Say Thanks

“It’s that time again when we reflect on our many blessings — Thanksgiving.

The CHI St. Vincent “family” has a lot to be thankful for as well.  We’re blessed with so many people who have answered the call to our ministry to heal. As we move to have a greater focus on health, we’re fortunate that many of our medical staff and co-workers have a zeal for wellness as we “Imagine Better Health.”

I’m also thankful for our volunteers who give their time freely to serve their neighbors and friends. We also enjoy support from the community. Wonderful examples of this are our Hospital and Foundation board members. Our governance bodies are made up of individuals who are dedicated to the mission of CHI St. Vincent.

But we should show the most thanks to our patients who entrust us with their care. They give us the joy of service to them in their most vulnerable moments. They are at the heart of our mission.

Often I get letters from patients expressing their gratitude for the care and healing they have experienced with us.  Along with these notes, our Sacred Stories and many other sources of recognition, I’m reminded of how blessed we are to be in this ministry, where we make a difference in lives, and where our patients and their stories make a difference in us.  As I hear these stories of how we treat families as they are our very own, it brings a smile to my face and deep gratitude to my heart.

Thank you so much for your everyday efforts and for extending Christ’s healing ministry.  I wish you and your loved ones a happy, healthy Thanksgiving.

 – Chad Aduddell, CEO CHI St. Vincent

This Thanksgiving, we asked our CHI St. Vincent co-workers to either give thanks or say thanks:

“I am thankful for all the nurses and caregivers at CHI St. Vincent who care for our patients with great compassion. They are the heart of our ministry, responding with courage and conviction, and carrying out our legacy of continuing the healing ministry of Jesus. I am also thankful to work with an incredible group of people who are talented, committed and a joy to be around.” – Laura Cook

“In this season of giving, my thoughts center on the many blessings in my life; my family and friends, my vocation, my faith, my freedom…just to name a few. How humbling it is that these many blessings are manifest in our work here at CHI St. Vincent in bringing forth the healing power of Christ. Nearly a year ago, my family and I relocated to Hot Springs to join this ministry. It has been a wonderful year getting to know so many dedicated care givers and coworkers – we have been warmly welcomed and for that I’m thankful. We have shared many successes and have grown stronger together in the face of challenge. My prayer is that this time provides peace, rest, and nourishment to everyone – enabling the renewal of our commitment to this sacred work. I truly love what I do and I love doing it at CHI St. Vincent! All my best to you and yours.” – Tony Houston

“As we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for all that you have done over the past year at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs.  We have experienced many challenges over the past year, ranging from ICD-10 implementation to record breaking patient volumes.  Despite these challenges, the Medical Staff at CHI St. Vincent has never wavered in their commitment to excellence in the quality care of our patients.    I am thankful for each member of the medical staff that has committed to this ministry in Hot Springs and the surrounding communities.  God bless each of you.  Happy Thanksgiving!!!” – Douglas Ross, MD FACEP

“I am thankful for my family, I am so very blessed for having them in my life. May God continue to bless them always. I would like to say Happy Thanksgiving to the staff on 2 Northwest. Much love.” – Karen Ingram

“I am thankful for my health.” – Allene

“I am thankful to God for the blessings of family, Church life, and Christ. 1 Timothy 2:1 says: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, giving of thanks, made for all men.” – Tyler Porterfield

“I am thankful each and every day.  During this season   I am reminded how blessed I am to have a loving and supportive family that does not allow distance to deter our  bond.  Through modern technology, I can  stay close to my children and grandchildren as they make their way in this world.  I am thankful that I “answered the call.” I remember the day well as it was less than a year ago.   I   am blessed  to personally witness the caring and compassion  from all within this ministry no matter their role. I observe daily random acts of kindness and volunteerism among our team. I find it  uplifting to be surrounded by those that place the needs of others before their own on a routine basis. I am aware of several  in  our ministry who are dealing with their own personal strife. May they  find  comfort in knowing that the thoughts and prayers of the CHI St. Vincent family are ever present. I thank God to live in this great nation and appreciate all those that have fought for our independence and that continue to keep us safe each and every day. May the blessings of this holiday season shine brightly upon each and every one touched by this ministry.” – Polly Davenport
