Why I Volunteer: Iva Lee Sledge, Morrilton
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” – Martin Luther King Jr.
To honor our volunteers as part of our Martin Luther King Jr. observances, we asked some of them – Why do you volunteer? Here’s what Iva Lee Sledge at Morrilton told us:
“I want to be with people and stay busy. I like to help the hospital, which in turn makes me happy. I walk people back to where they need to go. This is good exercise for me since I am 88 years old,” she said.
Bubba Arnold, President CHI St. Vincent Morrilton, recognized Iva Lee for her volunteerism at the Martin Luther King Jr. 2016 Celebration.
