We’re Celebrating Our Team During Coworker Appreciation Week

Aleta Braden, who works in Food & Nutrition Services at the Infirmary, was named a Service Hero for displaying the value of COMPASSION.

Aleta was nominated by a coworker who witnessed her acts of kindness toward others in the cafeteria.

“I watched Aleta come around from behind the food serving line and hand the man his food, rather than pass it under the glass where he could have been burned because of his low position on the scooter.

“But what struck me most was what I saw her do while I was sitting down having lunch. I watched her serve a man walking with a walker. She came from behind the serving counter, put his food on a tray, walked with him until he got to the cashier and placed his food on a nearby table. She didn’t wait for thanks. She just promptly returned to the counter to finish serving lunch. Her kindness was touching to sit back and watch. Kudos to her for her care and compassion and taking that extra step.”

Thank you, Aleta, for being a shining example of how our service goes beyond the medical care we provide our patients.
