Barbara Erby Helps Patient by Adopting Their Surrendered Pet

Congratulations Barbara Erby, Nursing Manager, for being named a Service Hero! Barbara works on the Ortho/Neuro floors at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs and was nominated by a coworker for this award.

There was an elderly patient in the hospital that understood going home was not a safe discharge plan. This patient needed to go into long-term care, but had to make the difficult decision to surrender his dog to the city’s animal services.

Barbara visited the patient and listened to his concerns and heartbreak over giving up his best friend.

She decided to go to animal services and adopt the dog!
