Case Manager Receives Humankindness Award
Congratulations to Kerri Reynolds, nurse case manager, on being honored with the Chick-Fil-A Humankindess Award for April!
Kerri works with patients who are pursuing hospice care. Recently she found one of patients had no family or friend support, so she paid special attention to him to make sure he felt cared for. When Kerri discovered the patient was excited to eat whatever he wanted now that he didn’t have to adhere to a healthy diet, she asked him what his favorite cheat day meal was.
#3 combo from McDonald’s, no salt on the fries, Diet Coke to drink.
Kerri took her lunch break to go to McDonald’s to order the patient’s favorite meal along with some treats for the other nurses caring for him. Thanks to her thoughtfulness, the patient had a memorable day and a full stomach before transitioning to hospice care.
The Chick-Fil-A Humankindness Award goes to a CHI St. Vincent employee who demonstrates our core value of humankindness by going above and beyond to care for a patient or coworker. Congratulations, Kerri!
