Infirmary PCA Recognized as Service Hero
Congratulations to Makia Young, personal care assistant on 2W/2NW, on being named a CHI St. Vincent Service Hero!
Makia was nominated by a coworker who praised her as one of the best additions to their team. The nomination reads in part: “Her role has been instrumental in improving not only patient satisfaction but the satisfaction of members from all levels of the multidisciplinary team. I have personally witnessed the respect that she provides patients, their family members, other hospital guests, and her coworkers when answering the phone, responding to call lights, providing directions to our guests given the location of the 2W nursing desk, etc. Her availability to the unit also contributes to the fluidity of MDRs. Makia wears many hats and does an outstanding job. Her consistent presence has been a huge asset to 2W/2NW.”
Makia is a model employee, and we couldn’t be prouder of her achievement of the Service Hero award. Don’t forget, if you have a deserving coworker, you can nominate them for one of our awards by clicking this link.
