Cheri Farmer Recognized with Hot Springs DAISY Award
Cheri Farmer, RN in MICU in Hot Springs, was recognized with a DAISY Award for the compassion she showed to a recent patient.
Cheri was nominated by the patient’s family members who praised her for going above and beyond to care for their mother during a scary and stressful time.
“She was so patient when mom was confused and spent so much time explaining to us what was happening medically. She met our family’s emotional needs and showed extraordinary compassion. She taught me how to assist my mother and provided comfort and kindness that I will never ever forget.
“She changed our experience here from ordinary and scary to extraordinary!”
The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created the national award to thank nurses everywhere.
