CHI St. Vincent Partnering With Habitat To Assist Co-worker
CHI St. Vincent co-workers are participating in Habitat For Humanity’s 8th Carpenter Club Build Week this week. #CHILivingOurMission. The house being built will go to CHI St. Vincent patient care technician Kelley Hagelstein, who works in the Emergency Department at the Infirmary.
The project began on Saturday. Instructions for the day’s work will begin between 7:45 and 8 am each day through Friday, June 17. Work will continue until about 2:30 pm each day.
While Habitat For Humanity has all the tools you will need available, they allow volunteers to bring the following, if they want to use their own: Hammer, utility knife, tape measure, pencil, work gloves, chair or stool (for breaks), nail apron or tool belt, hard hat, level, cat’s paw or nail puller, speed square or step stool or ladder.
Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes appropriate for the work and weather. Closed-toe shoes must be worn.
Projects vary based on where they are in the building process. Some groups that come out build walls, others paint. Some put on roofs, and some do landscaping. They will give plenty of leadership and instruction and not ask you to perform a task that makes you uncomfortable.
To get to Partnership Village, take I-30 toward Saline County. Take exit 117 and turn right onto AR-5. At the light, turn left onto AR-35. Go across the overpass and turn right onto Market St. Go through downtown Benton, over the railroad tracks and keep right. Partnership Village is on the right.
