Compassionate Care Leads to DAISY Award for North RN
Congratulations to Amanda Marckcum, RN in the North ED, on being recognized with a DAISY Award! Amanda received the honor after the family of a patient who had come through the ED multiple times was touched by her compassionate care. Here’s their nomination:
“We were admitted last month and transferred to another facility. Amanda has been very polite, caring, and very professional with her job. She made us feel comfortable and made sure we were taken care of. Now we are back again and Amanda is still the same person. She saw us and asked if she could be our nurse because she had us the last time. Amanda made my grumpy old man feel safe and she made him talk when I had tried to talk to him for hours. People like Amanda really need to be recognized and be applauded for not only her loving and caring heart, but also for her patience and showing us that good people still exist in this world. We have been praying for Amanda since our last visit. May God bless you and thank you very much for your service.”
Thank you, Amanda, for your example of excellent service and care for your patients. If you know of a nurse coworker who has gone the extra distance for their patients, you should nominate them for a DAISY Award! Click this link and fill out the form to let us know about their excellent work.
