Congratulations Cara Petrus on Becoming a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

cara-snipCongrats to Cara Petrus, Manager of Clinical Quality Analytics, for successfully achieving the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification!

Cara started working towards this during her journey to complete her Master’s Degree at Saint Louis University for Health Care Administration.

“The content for that program was heavily focused on the transition from Fee for Service to Quality Care Reimbursement. We had extensive education on Performance Improvement, Quality, and Healthcare Reform. I received my Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma upon finishing Graduate School. In an effort to continue to push myself, I have been preparing for the Black Belt portion the last two years. It took me about four months to prepare for the exam. This was one of my professional goals that I was blessed to be able to fulfill because of the experience I am receiving in my current role. I could not have done it without the support of our leaders, specifically Tom Cummins, MD

The Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt  is a professional who is well versed in the Lean Six Sigma Methodology and leads complex improvement projects. They possess a thorough understanding of all aspects of Lean Six Sigma’s Methodology and demonstrate a high-level of competency in the subject matters contained within the phases of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC). A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt also understands how to implement, perform, interpret and apply Lean Six Sigma at an advanced level of proficiency.

Lots of hard work went into this professional achievement and we are very fortunate to have Cara on our team!
