Dawn Robinson Named Daisy Award Winner at Infirmary

Dawn Robinson, a RN in Labor & Delivery at the Infirmary, received the October Daisy Award.

The patient who nominated Dawn said her initial stay at the hospital was difficult as she prepared for surgery, but Dawn’s care and expertise made the rest of her stay wonderful.

“It’s hard to find the words to describe the amazing job this nurse did while taking care of me. She went above and beyond to make sure I had all I needed and was comfortable. She was quick to address my needs and didn’t make me wait. Out of all the nurses I had, none made me feel as important or valued like she did. She was so caring, a good listener, always had an answer for me and was so polite and loving. Her knowledge and skills of her made me feel safe and well taken care of. She was extraordinary in every way.

“She definitely demonstrated St. Vincent’s core values in everything she did. Because of nurses like this one, I recommend CHI St. Vincent’s hospital to all my family, friends and strangers.”

The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this national award to say thank you to nurses everywhere.
