Hailea Hunter Receives Hot Springs DAISY Award
Hailea Hunter, a nurse on 5 East at Hot Springs, received the Daisy Award.
A patient nominated Hailea for her kindness and compassion writing,
“This nurse was my daytime nurse for two days. I had an issue with my IV, and she was so worried she kept apologizing and even came in on her day off to check on me. When she visited, all I could do was cry happy tears. I have been sick for some time and have NEVER had a nurse as compassionate as her. She has called every day to check on me. She deserves the DAISY award because she is kind, caring, compassionate and just an amazing nurse.”
The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this national award to say thank you to nurses everywhere.
