Holly Taylor Selected to Serve on NCSBN’s Item Writing Team
Congratulations to Holly Taylor, RN at the Infirmary, who recently served as a member of the item writing team for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Licensure Examination.
Holly was selected by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing and approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing on the basis of her clinical specialty and nursing expertise.
She was one of 12 nursing professionals from the United States and Canada to travel to Chicago to serve on the item writing team.
The National Council of State Boards is responsible for developing and administering the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN examinations. NCSBN recruits nurses to develop the exam process by serving on the item writing and item review panels.
The exams identify those candidates who demonstrate minimal competence to practice nursing at the entry level. Passing the exam is one of the requirements necessary for attaining a nursing license/registration in the United States and participating Canadian provinces and territories.
The quality of the National Council Licensure Examination depends on the commitment of professionals like
Holly to maintain high standards for the assessment of nursing competence at the entry level.
