Hot Springs Honors 9 Service Heroes in May

Recognitions are rolling in from Hot Springs, as the hospital recognized nine coworkers from the month of May as CHI St. Vincent Service Heroes! While we will continue rolling out our Service Hero winners one-at-a-time on social media, we are honoring all of May’s winners in a single blog post. Here are the honorees; congratulations and thank you all for your outstanding work!

Christi Amerson, PharmD, Pharmacy, for leading by example and jumping in to help anytime it’s needed, including coming in early and staying late to provide support.

Paxton Keith, RN, 4E, for tracking down a patient’s next of kin to make end-of-life decisions, including reaching out to a detective in another state to find the patient’s sibling.

Leilani Marcelino, RN, 4E, for helping a patient with the cost of medications so that the patient could be discharged.

Stephen Merritt, EVS, for sorting through seven bins of linens to find a misplaced wallet belonging to an ICU patient.

Daisy Sandoval, RN, Float Pool, for her tireless assistance in helping patients move around and adjust, even when the patients weren’t her own.

Aneel Shermohmad, DO, Medical Group, for doggedly advocating to a pharmaceutical company to get necessary medications approved for a patient’s complex diagnosis.

Dakota Terry, RN, ED, for working for hours to discover the toxin that a developmentally disabled patient had ingested and helping create a treatment plan that kept the patient alive.

Samone Warner, RN, 4E, for providing extraordinary care and compassion to a patient who needed a great deal of assistance.

Emily Wincher, RN, SICU, for getting a stuffed animal with hospital wristband for the family of an end-of-life patient that made their transition easier.
