Hot Springs Project Search Recipient of 2018 “I Love LK Foundation” Gift

The Hot Springs Project SEARCH program has been chosen as a 2018 recipient of the “I Love LK Foundation”. The foundation was named for Lila Kate, a local child with Down Syndrome who passed away a few years ago. The foundation raises money for local programs that support individuals with disabilities. The “I Love LK Foundation” is presenting checks totaling $33,000. Project Search will receive a donation of $2,000. The monies will be used for “career readiness tools” to help the interns prepare for competitive employment.

The annual “giving ceremony” is Sunday, Nov. 4.

Hot Springs is a host site for Project SEARCH in Garland County. Project SEARCH, a global initiative, is a program that provides internships for young adults ages 17-21 that are developmentally delayed or disabled. The goal of Project Search is to promote independence and to find competitive employment for their participants at the end of their 9 month internship.
