Lana Lambert Named Service Hero in Hot Springs

Lana Lambert, RN has been named Service Hero in Hot Springs for displaying the values of COMPASSION and EXCELLENCE.

Candice Rhea, Senior Recruiter at Hot Springs, had been in the process of “courting” a nurse that worked at a competing hospital for 28 years. Candice had originally talked to this nurse over a year ago and was impressed. While not ready to make a move at the time, Candice asked if she could stay in touch. Over the last six months the nurse began to reach out to Candice and said that she had been praying for “a sign” that God would show her the way.

On the day of her interview, she had some extra time so she went into the Gift Shop. As soon as she walked in she saw a sign that read, “If you’re looking for a sign…this is it!” She laughed to herself and proceeded to Human Resources. As she did, she encountered several familiar faces, but one stood out. When she was doing clinical rotations at our facility 28 years ago, she was oriented by Lana Lambert. Lana had made such an impact on her, that she credits Lana for instilling in her a great love for nursing. She said that Lana made her the nurse she is today and has often regarded Lana as “the standard” for excellence in nursing. In fact, she said Lana’s impact on her was so significant, she later named her daughter after her.

Though she hasn’t seen or talked to Lana in over 20 years, she immediately remembered her as Lana warmly welcomed her into our facility and pointed her towards HR. She knew that God had sent her the sign for which she had prayed.

Many of our Service Heroes are those on the front lines of patient care, but so often, there are angels serving quietly and faithfully in the background and making a tremendous impact on those in which they come in contact. Lana is an excellent example of this.

By the way…the nurse started with us in February!

Thank you Lana!
