LVAD Survey Scheduled for Nov. 20-21

The Heart Institute team at the Infirmary is preparing for an upcoming survey from The Joint Commission (TJC) to review our LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) program on Monday, Nov. 20-Tuesday, Nov. 21. The day-and-half survey will review our quality and regulatory standards for this advanced cardiac program.

While surveyors will be focused on LVAD, they will be observant of all areas of the facility.

You may notice new messaging on the digital signage noting the 24-call number for LVAD Program. As well, we are reiterating these key facts:

  • An LVAD patient may not have a palpable pulse
  • Do not touch any of the equipment
  • No chest compressions
