UPDATE: Heritage Week T-shirts Now For Sale Online
To commemorate Heritage Week, we’ve commissioned four new t-shirt designs that celebrate the history of each hospital campus in a unique and fun way. These shirts are on sale now on the CHI St. Vincent Foundation website. All proceeds go to benefit the Foundation, which helps fund operations and improvements for all hospitals and clinics in the Arkansas market. Shirts are approved to wear during any designated t-shirt days at St. Vincent.

The Original Golden Arch (1954): For the Infirmary, we went with a design that honors the arch that stands outside the parking garage on the walkway to the front entrance. The arch is original to the campus. Fun fact: CHI St. Vincent Infirmary opened at University and Markham in 1954, while McDonald’s Corporation opened in 1955.

Built by St. Joseph (1991): Hot Springs has a storied history, first opening in 1888 as St. Joseph’s Infirmary. The hospital grew and expanded to multiple campuses over the years until 1991, when all services moved into the current location on Werner St. The design features the iconic statue of Joseph of Nazareth at the entrance, with a backdrop of the hospital’s horseshoe opening.

Run with the Nuns (1999): CHI St. Vincent North is the youngest of the four campuses, founded at the end of the last century. One of the opening events of the new hospital was Run With The Nuns, a 5K race in which several of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth ran wearing their traditional habits. The event received national publicity, and is commemorated here.

The Spirit of St. Anthony (1925): Morrilton first opened under the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery as a 14-bed facility in a private home. We wanted to honor the hospital’s determined, resilient spirit and toughness, succeeding for 100 years as a rural hospital. The design is a play on the Spirit of St. Louis, the plane Charles Lindbergh flew in to become the first pilot to cross the Atlantic Ocean.
