North RN Wins DAISY Award for Outstanding Patient Care

We are proud to announce that Blake Barnes, RN, at North has been honored with a DAISY Award! Blake was recognized for his outstanding work with a patient battling brain disease. Blake was so attentive and caring that the patient wouldn’t leave until they could submit a nomination for Blake. Here’s what they said:

“Blake listened to what all was going on with me and took the time to listen and explain things in a caring and professional way. He explained exactly how the medication the doctor ordered would make me feel. He was very knowledgeable about my brain diseases and very compassionate. Blake made my son and myself very comfortable. He had great conversations with us while putting in my IV and when he gave me medications. He is a very caring person and a great example of how a nurse should be. Blake made my family and my visit a great experience, which is the biggest blessing because I’ve had so many terrible experiences at other places. I rarely nominate anyone for this award but Blake absolutely deserves this award and the other staff agreed when I asked them how to let HR know how great a nurse he is.”
