Patient Says Dr. Lingyi Chen Has Saved Their Life Twice

Congratulations Dr. Lingyi Chen, Oncology and Hematology with Genesis Cancer and Blood Institute, for being named a Service Hero!

Dr. Chen was nominated by a patient for this award.

They said she is very good at listening to her patients.

“I happened to mention a pain that was bothering me. I thought it might be nothing, but she sent me to have a PET scan. Sure enough, it showed activity in a lesion located in my lung. Then she started chemo and Keytruda right away,” said the patient.

The patient added that another person might not have addressed such a small complaint and missed the small cancerous growth. They are grateful for her attentiveness.

“I feel like she has saved my life TWICE now! Thank you, Dr. Lingyi Chen.”

Dr. John Mark Pabona, Hospitalist, presented the award to Dr. Chen. His husband is currently undergoing treatment for cancer and said Dr. Chen has played a huge role in his excellent care. Dr. Pabona said to him, Dr. Chen is the best physician in the world!
