Roland Blanchard Named Service Hero at Infirmary

Roland Blanchard was named a Service Hero at the Infirmary for displaying the value of COMPASSION.

Roland had worked the night shift in the ER then volunteered to come to 4W after he had clocked out and sit with a patient. He sat and talked to the patient on his own time off until about 10:30pm when he left for his two-hour drive home.

Roland had met the patient when he came through the ER and knew the patient spoke almost no English, had no family or friends present and was anxious about being in an unfamiliar place surrounded by people who don’t speak his language. This staff member went far above and beyond normal expectations to provide comfort to this patient.
