Seven Nominations for Newest DAISY Award Winner

Normally when a CHI St. Vincent nurse wins a DAISY Award, they’ve been nominated by one or two people. But Alicia Jackson, RN, in L&D at the Hot Springs campus won her award after a stunning seven nominations from patients and coworkers! Alicia was universally praised for going above and beyond on multiple occasions, including staying with patients who were nervous about their first delivery and checking on them long after they left the hospital. But it was this story that really stood out:

“[Alicia] went above and beyond to get a non-English speaking patient connected to Arkansas Children’s Hospital camera so she could see her newborn, premature baby. This required setting up an email account for her. This was not her patient, but she spent time on this, a great example of humankindness!”

That level of care for a patient goes beyond clinical excellence and gets at the heart of what it means to have humankindness. Congratulations, Alicia! And don’t forget, if you have a coworker you think should be considered for a DAISY Award, nominate them! Click the link here to fill out the form and tell their story!
