Shaquina Swope Receives Service Hero Award at Infirmary
Congratulations to Shaquina Swope, Therapy, for being recognized as a Service Hero at the Infirmary. Read a snip from her nomination below.
I wanted to share with y’all about our coworker Quana (Shaquina) Swope. She and our other Rehab Assistant, Cathy Carver, have a prayer list. Whenever they encounter someone in need of prayers, they quickly add their name to the prayer list and pray for them daily. The following is an email from Cathy, telling me about an incident with Quana.
“The other day Quana met a lady who was coming in for Surgery for a spinal cord injury. Quana told the lady she would check on her and be praying for her. So we put her on our prayer list and have been praying this week. Today she is in surgery now, and Quana went up to pray with the family, but found no one there–her dad is flying in from California. Her daughter is in Dallas with the Grandmother who had surgery yesterday. Quana talked to the daughter on the phone while in the waiting area and prayed with her then.”
It warms my heart to know that Cathy and Quana are praying for so many people–people they don’t really know. Quana went far above and beyond to meet the physical needs of this patient and help the patient and family connect. I am proud to be Quana and Cathy’s coworker!
