Coworker Food Pantry in Local News Spotlight
This week, several local news outlets came and toured the coworker food pantry at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary. The food pantry is open for all CHI St. Vincent coworkers and provides free and healthy food, along with home supplies, for anybody who needs it. Arkansas is ranked near the bottom for food insecurity in the United States, and that affects nearly everybody in the state.
Our food pantry works with the cafeteria to freeze and individually portion any leftover food from lunch and dinner service. We also work with Arkansas Foodbank to ensure fresh produce is available. And we receive donations from a number of area businesses to stock items like cereal, canned goods, and even cleaning supplies.
If you want to check it out, CHI St. Vincent has two food pantry locations that are open to all coworkers. We do not check your income or family situation; all you need is your employee badge.
Infirmary food pantry: Monday 12:30 – 3 p.m. and Thursday 9:30 a.m. – noon
