Spirituality of Work Feast Day is Thursday, Sept. 4
For our CommonSpirit Health Feast Day this September, we celebrate the meaningful work that we see across our ministry. During this time, we come together in community and with prayer, food and feasting, to celebrate and be inspired.
This year’s theme, “Sacred Work, Shared Purpose,” acknowledges the extraordinary and everyday contributions made across our ministry to advance our mission and live our values. It’s a time to reflect on how our shared values — compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence and collaboration — guide us in serving our patients, communities, and furthering the common good.
All CommonSpirit Health team members are invited to participate in our Spirituality of Work Feast Day virtual service of prayer and celebration on Thursday, Sept. 4, at 1 p.m. CT.

Throughout September, Spirituality of Work celebrations will continue across our ministry and regions. We encourage you to connect with your colleagues and reflect on how we are unified by our shared purpose and the sacred nature of our work.
A feast day is a time to come together to celebrate, reflect and be inspired. As a faith-based organization, CommonSpirit recognizes two feast days. The first is our Working for the Common Good Feast Day, held each February, to commemorate CommonSpirit Health’s founding and the Catholic Church’s World Day of Healing. The other is our Spirituality of Work Feast Day, held each September, commemorating the spirituality that lives in our workplace.
