Volunteer Elected President of State’s Hospital Auxiliary
Congratulations to volunteer Jan Gardner, who was recently elected president of the Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary Association.
During the past year as president-elect, Jan has traveled to the state’s seven districts, championing the auxiliary’s various projects.
Those projects include the Helmet Emergency Labeling Program (HELP) and Look Before You Lock, which reminds caregivers of the dangers of leaving children unattended in vehicles. The auxiliary also provides Alzheimer’s education brochures for caregivers and awards scholarships for students entering health-related fields.
Jan began volunteering at North in 2010 and said she enjoys giving back to the community she has called home most of her life.
“I love the family atmosphere of the hospital. You know everyone who works there. Whether you know their first name or just their face. It’s that closeness and camaraderie working together for that common cause. We all have CHI in common.”
