Whitney Argueta Presented with DAISY Award
Congratulations Whitney Argueta, RN, MICU, Hot Springs, for being named a DAISY Award winner for August 2022!
Whitney was nominated by a patient’s family member who also works in our ministry at CHI St. Vincent Morrilton.
The coworker said her dad was admitted to the MICU in July with respiratory failure and the family met Whitney about five days into his stay.
“From the first time she entered his room, we knew she was going to be special.”
Whitney worked tirelessly to wean him off sedation. She took the time to speak to the family about who their dad was prior to the illness. They said Whitney laughed and cried with them as they shared stories.
Unfortunately, their dad took a turn for the worse and passed away. On that day, Whitney wasn’t their nurse, but still checked in on them and even prayed over them before he passed.
Whitney came to support the family at the visitation. There, they shared stories, laughs and tears over their dad’s life. They also talked about what Whitney did for not only only him, but the entire family.
“Whitney is one of the most caring, kindest nurses that we’ve had the joy of having. She took amazing care of not only my dad, but my mom, sister, family, and myself. She displays every core value of CHI St Vincent in a way that goes above and beyond.”
