Willie Brooks Named Infirmary Service Hero

Congratulations Willie Brooks, food services, for being recognized as an Infirmary service hero!

Willie was nominated by a visitor for his integrity.

The visitor said she went to the cafeteria one Sunday afternoon. She said Willie offered her a plate and after she got a drink she noticed the same man helping a lady at the self-checkout.

The visitor asked the lady to stay close to help her with the self-checkout, but Willie kindly said, “I’ve got you, ma’am.”

As she sat and ate, she said she watched him constantly scanning the cafeteria, looking for something to do or someone who needed help.

“He showed real ownership and treated his job as if we were his guests and he wanted us to have a good experience,” the visitor said.

She also mentioned how refreshing it was to have someone acting like a host, rather than someone who didn’t want to be at work on a Sunday.

I’d like to say thank you and I saw your spirit on Sunday. Just the simple “I got you, ma’am” meant so much at that moment.
