Angie Longing Given DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award

Congratulations Angie Longing, MHSM BSN RN NE-BC, Senior Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive at CHI St. Vincent on winning the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award!

This award was created by the DAISY Foundation to recognize those nurses who have devoted their life’s work to the compassionate care of others. Recipients of this award are nominated for their dedication to nursing through active mentoring, role modeling, advocating for their patients and promoting the positive image of nursing.

In celebration of Angie’s 30 years of service to our ministry, she was recognized with this amazing honor! The DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes nurses who over the course of their career have significantly contributed to the profession.

I believe you have contributed several lifetimes of work in your 30 years of nursing, not only to St. Vincent’s, but also to the profession. Thank you for leading us. And we are so proud to honor you today with this award,” said Amy Huett, PhD RN NPD-BC, Market Director for Nursing Excellence and Education.

The DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award criteria include:

  • Distinguished career as a nurse that promotes a positive image of professional nursing
  • Demonstrates and actively engages in the professional development of self and others in the nursing profession
  • Serves as a role model and advocate for nursing practice and the advancement of nursing as a professional
  • Advocates for the improvement of patient care and serves as an exemplar for enhancing the patient experience
  • Recognized by the broader nursing community as a transformational nursing leader
  • 25+ years of service
