Candice Rhea Recognized as a Service Hero at Hot Springs

Congratulations to Candice Rhea, Human Resources, for being recognized as a Service Hero at Hot Springs. She put our values into action by demonstrating EXCELLENCE after being the catalyst to get the Project SEARCH program started. Read a snip from her nomination:

A couple of years ago, Candice heard about a program that she thought would have a positive impact on the community, and she wanted CHI St. Vincent to be a part of that.

Really, the story starts further back than that, about 20 years ago at Cincinnati Children’s in Ohio. A nurse and a teacher had a desire to help children with developmental disabilities and/or delays. Thus, Project SEARCH was conceived.

With 19 successful years and over 400 program sites, some very forward-thinking individuals got together to bring Project SEARCH to CHI St. Vincent. Candice Rhea was a catalyst to begin the process, and brought other agents from the community and state together, to ignite the flame in Hot Springs. With the initial year of Project SEARCH now complete, five of the nine interns have been placed in full time employment (four right here within the walls of CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs). That would never have been possible without the passion and perseverance of Candice. She is a shining light wherever she is, and will be the catalyst for many great projects in the future. We at Project SEARCH are grateful for the catalyst, ignition and light that she exudes that is so contagious.
