CHI St. Vincent North Donates Nearly 700 lbs of Food to Potluck Food Rescue

CHI St. Vincent North is proud to work with Potluck Food Rescue to divert cafeteria leftovers to local people in need. Since April, nearly 700 lbs of food has been saved and not tossed in the trash!

Driving Away Hunger is the food rescue’s annual fundraiser and CHI. St Vincent was a proud sponsor of the event. Megan Bonney, President of CHI St. Vincent North, serves on the Potluck Food Rescue Board of Directors.

“Our partnership with Potluck Food Rescue is an extension of our commitment to serve the most vulnerable  in our community. It is an honor to work with an organization steadfast on addressing food insecurity in Arkansas,” said Bonney.

“I have supported Potluck for over 20 years because their mission is one that I am passionate about.  People should not go hungry when so much good food is thrown away every day,” said Tonya Johnson, Market Director, Nutrition and Food Services at CHI St. Vincent.

Sadly, Arkansas is ranked number one in food insecurity. Mandy Davis, Community Outreach Director, said there’s also thousands of pounds of food discarded daily in Pulaski County alone. She said the goal is to redirect this food to the hungry people who need it.

“I am extremely proud of CHI St. VIncent Sherwood’s efforts to partner and deepen their relationship with this important local organization that’s doing so much to solve hunger,” said Davis.
