DAISY Award for CVICU RN at the Infirmary

Congratulations to Brande Callis, RN, at the Infirmary on receiving the DAISY Award! Brande was nominated by a patient’s family member who said she made their stay the best it could possibly be. Here’s the nomination:

“Brande did a superior job in taking care of my mom. She always listened attentively and built a rapport quickly with mom. Every time my mom presented with a need, her nurse ensured it was met. There was no ‘ask’ too small or too big to fulfill in caring for both my mom and myself as I stayed by mom’s side 24/7. Brande was diligent to inform my mom of the night nurse coming on shift and communicated with the night shift to ensure that the transfer of care was seamless. She was always thorough and knowledgeable regarding medications, wound care, healing, and best practices to support the recovery process. This made our stay more delightful than we had imagined possible and brought a smile to our faces each and every day.”

Brande, we’re so proud of you and so glad your hard work has been recognized. Thank you for always taking such excellent care of your patients. Don’t forget, nominations for the DAISY Award can come from patients or from coworkers! If you know of a deserving RN coworker, take a moment to click this link and fill out the form to nominate them!
