CommonSpirit Health Announces COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement

Through careful discernment and consultation with leadership and clinicians throughout our health care system, and as a reflection of our mission and values, CommonSpirit Health will make the COVID-19 vaccine a condition of employment for all employees, including employees who work at non-care sites, those who do not provide direct patient care, and those who work remotely. This requirement also includes all physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, volunteers and others caring for our patients within our facilities. Verification of full vaccination is required by November 1, 2021.
Religious and medical exemptions will be available to those who qualify. We have also notified our labor unions that we intend to apply this policy to union-represented employees.
While masking and physical distancing will continue, vaccination remains our strongest defense against the COVID-19 virus. As a result of the highly-transmissible Delta variant, COVID cases are rising in our community, and now is the time for us to do all that we can to protect ourselves and each other.
Those who are vaccinated are better protected than those who are not. The CDC and the FDA have both concluded the COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective at preventing serious illness, hospitalization and death.
More information will be shared soon about how to provide proof of your vaccination status. If you have questions, please click here review the FAQ. If you have additional questions after reviewing the FAQ, please email csh-covid19@commonspirit.org.
Please remain vigilant in your masking, physical distancing and hand washing. Thank you for all that you do and will continue to do in service to others and yourself.
