CommonSpirit Launches Podcast Series About Mission Statement

The rich language of the CommonSpirit Health Mission Statement provides an opportunity for each of us to find unique, personal meaning in the words.

CommonSpirit will share a series of podcasts that explore the creation, language and impact of our Mission Statement.

The Office of the CEO formally announced the Mission Statement for CommonSpirit Health in November. The Mission Statement serves as a formal declaration of CommonSpirit’s purpose. The mission statement reads:

As CommonSpirit Health, we make the healing presence of God known in our world by improving the health of the people we serve, especially those who are vulnerable, while we advance social justice for all.

The elements to include in the Mission Statement were defined by the Mission and Advocacy and the Sponsorship and Governance Committees of the Board of Stewardship Trustees. Text was crafted by an internal writing committee, reviewed by Representatives of the Participating Congregations and approved by the Board of Stewardship Trustees.
